I am enjoying my 15th year of providing premium freelance biomedical editing, rewriting, and fact-checking services for individuals and corporations. I am based in the Seattle area.
I received my BA in Psychobiology from Oberlin College and my PhD in Neurobiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I began freelance biomedical editing while pursuing postdoctoral studies in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Washington.
After my postdoc, I spent 5 years at a biotechnology company, working as a Bioinformatics Scientist and Managing Editor of Editing and Imaging Divisions.
I obtained BELS certification (Board of Editors in the Life Sciences) in 2007, and completed AMWA’s Core Certificate in Pharmaceutical Writing in 2009. I am presently working toward an Advanced Certificate.
I am also a member of the Council of Science Editors, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and the Northwest Independent Editors Guild.
